1:27 Project
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27 (NIV)
Through your church, you can walk alongside fellow believers in Third World countries while teaching them to “be” the church. The 1:27 Project models how to live out the Bible’s James 1:27 calling to pure religion—ministering to orphans and widows in their distress. As a 1:27 Project Partner, your church can sponsor a Third World church where you’ll have the opportunity to provide beds to orphans and seniors, assist the church body in meeting the needs of those orphaned and widowed in their community, and train Sunday School leaders, deacons and others as your church partners with fellow believers in hands-on ministry opportunities as you help church members learn to minister to those around them.
