Planned Giving Through Sweet Sleep
You’ve made giving to Sweet Sleep a priority, and because of that we’ve been able to provide beds to thousands of orphans. We feel certain you’ll want to include Sweet Sleep in your final plans and continue to give beds to children in need.
Q. What is Planned Giving?
A. Planned giving is any major gift, made in lifetime or at death as part of you – the donor’s – overall financial and/or estate planning which enables you to make a larger gift than you could make from your income. Planned gifts can use estate and tax planning techniques to provide for a nonprofit, like Sweet Sleep, and other heirs in ways that maximize the gift and/or minimize its impact on your estate.
Whether you use cash, appreciated securities/stock, real estate, artwork, partnership, interests, personal property, life insurance or a retirement plan, the benefits of funding a planned gift can make this type of charitable giving very attractive to you as well as Sweet Sleep.
Q. What is the Most Popular Planned Gift?
A. A bequest through a will or trust is the most popular planned gift. Through a bequest you may include a provision in your will or trust which states that a gift or percentage gift be given to Sweet Sleep after your death or the death of one of your survivors. This type of gift costs you nothing during your lifetime. You can give a specific amount of money or a percentage of the balance remaining in your estate after taxes and other specific bequests have been completed.
